Frequently asked questions
How long has Famous Music Group been DJing?
For over 10 years. Some of that being with another Major DJ Company before starting this business to give clients a more individualized DJ experience.
Will you play requests?
We do take requests during the event and may play some of them. We do filter the requests based on the original wishes of the client. So if somone requests something that is on your "do not play" list then we for sure won't play it. If someone makes a request that fits in well with what the DJ is playing at the time and with the music the client wants, then the DJ may play the request. We do have an music planning mobile app that will allow you to make request list before the event.
What equipment do you use?
Instead of boring you will all of the brand names and electronics talk, we can say that we only use state-of-the-art professional DJ equipment that minimizes wires and doesn't look bulky.
What are your payment terms?
The deposit is required at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the event date. Payments can be made through our online planning system using a debit or credit card or Paypal/Venmo account.
When should I book my DJ?
A good time frame is at least six months before the event. However, we understand that there are some more last minute needs and we hope to accomodate those as well
Should we feed the DJ?
This is not required in our contract and is completely up to you. Typically, the catering director or event coordinator will set aside a eal or boxed dinner for the DJ if requested by the client.
How many songs should I request?
You can select songs that you would like to hear at your event (as well as songs you don't want to hear) through our mobile planning app. You will receive a link to download the app when your contract is finalized. The number of songs you request is totally up to you! We recommend giving at least 10-15 songs of different genres and artists that you would like to hear. A frew songs/artists that you don't want to hear is always helpful as well. During your initial consultation, your DJ will ask about your music preferences.
Do I tip the DJ?
We do not include gratuity in the final contract price. 10-20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job, but it's totally up to you
